By combining language skills with a respectful appreciation of diverse cultural perspectives, our team builds lasting trust and delivers impactful care.

Domestic Candidate Benefits

Domestic candidates receive all substantial U.S. benefits – mirroring the international package (except immigration-specific support) – including a competitive salary, ProSal bonus, local licensing sponsorship, 75% personal pet discount, all professional licensing fees, professional development. The exit event bonus needs to be also added to international vet compensation.

Licensing Sponsorship

We cover the costs for obtaining necessary licenses (NAVLE, CLE, and California licensure), including exam fees, wage replacement in Mexico (up to 10 weeks), course fees, and exam-related travel. (Domestic candidates receive appropriate local support.)

USA Work Support

Eligible candidates receive full assistance with TN visa applications and related fees. While in the United States, you’ll benefit from mentorship, continuing education, production bonuses, and an exit-event bonus. (Not applicable to U.S. citizens or domestic candidates.)

For international hires, we cover travel costs, assist with locating short-term housing, and provide hands-on support in securing essential documents like your Social Security card and bank account. (Domestic candidates receive local transition support.)

Professional Development

Opportunities include annual conferences, up to 7 days of paid continuing education (max $3,000 per year), and weekly mentorship. Pick your CE focus as your interests develop.

Project Completion Bonus

Every veterinarian is eligible to participate in our project completion bonus program, which rewards your contributions throughout the duration of your assignment — typically several years. It’s a rare opportunity to be financially recognized for your impact during your stay in America.

The Buenavida Path
to a Successful Career as a Veterinary Leader

We make every milestone clear, achievable, and supported, so you never feel lost along the way. Your success isn’t just a goal, it’s something we celebrate together.

1

Get Started

Submit your application with the required references. If needed, we’ll begin with personalized English tutoring and clinical vocabulary support. You may also have the opportunity for clinical training to help build the core skills needed to thrive in U.S. practice.

2

Prepare for the NAVLE

Enroll in a top preparatory course (e.g., NAVLE Prep by Veterinary Learning). We cover exam fees, course expenses, and provide a three-month study allowance.

3

Examination and Placement

We manage all details on exam day (airfare, accommodations, fees). Approximately six weeks after the exam, you receive your results. Upon passing, international candidates must secure a TN Visa – required for entry into the United States – before placement in one of our busy practices begins.

4

Transition to Southern California

After securing the TN Visa, travel to the USA to start your internship in California. You will take the open-book Veterinary Law exam and complete fingerprinting, with assistance provided for transportation, accommodations, and related fees. Our team will meet you at the airport and guide you through your new environment.

5

Settle into Your New Life

We help you secure essential documents - such as obtaining a Social Security card, a driver's license, setting up a bank account, getting a cell phone, and starting to build personal financial credit – to assist you during this critical phase.

6

Enhance Your Clinical Expertise

Participate in on-the-job training, seminars, workshops, and conferences, and join a network of veterinary professionals for continuous learning.

7

Grow into a Leadership Role

On the Buenavida Path, your growth never stops. Through weekly remote mentorship sessions, you’ll build the leadership skills that inspire others and shape the future of veterinary care. Step by step, you’ll take on greater clinical and team responsibilities—becoming a role model for your peers and future veterinarians. At Buenavida, leadership is more than a title—it’s the natural next step on a path built for your personal and professional success.

8

Transform Your Career

Develop strong business acumen while gaining hands-on experience in clinic operations, leadership, and professional growth. During your assignment, you’ll follow a structured path designed to support your continued development — whether by expanding clinical expertise, strengthening management skills, or exploring new veterinary initiatives.
